The issue of migration and illegal immigration took center stage at a panel discussion on “Understanding The Complexities of Migration Management ” during day four of Diplomatic Week held at the Grand Lucayan Resort in Freeport, Grand Bahama.  Immigration Minister the Hon. Sears (centre) served as a panelist for the discussion, along with Her Excellency Gezel Farrington, Ambassador-at-Large for Human Rights (photographed at left) and Ms. Zahrah Jibrilu, Project Officer, International Organization for Migration (photographed at right).  Other panelists included His Excellency Dennis Zulu, UN Resident Coordinator for The Bahamas, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos and Jamaica; His Excellency Dr. Ellison Rahming, Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba; and Mr. Crispin Hall, of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).

Former Cabinet Minister Wife Pleads Guilty to Fraud

Tietchka Vanderpool-Wallace and Livingston Seymour, both 54, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court to face charges of forging prescriptions. The pair appeared before Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans. Man Escapes Police Custody

Police are seeking assistance from members of the public for the capture of wanted suspect Tamal Rico Bowe who escaped lawful custody shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday, while detained at the Carmichael Road Police Station.   He was being questioned for armed robbery.
