Tripped BPL Engines Caused Power Outage

Two Wartsila engines tripped offline on Friday morning, causing outages in a number of areas throughout the capital.

Bahamas Power and Light Company (BPL) released a statement at 8 a.m. on Friday, stating that its two engines went offline at station A, including its GT9, at its Blue Hills Power Station.

The power company said it restored power to a number of affected areas, and full restoration was at 9:10 a.m. on Friday.

BPL added that its GT9 engine, that went offline, was being assessed by technicians.
