Cash For Gold Proprietor Murdered- GB’s First Homicide Recorded

Grand Bahama has recorded its first homicide of the year.

According to reports, around 6:20 p.m. Saturday police received information of a shooting in the Deadman Reef area.

Officers responded where it was reported that around 6:15p.m., a man and a woman were at their home at Deadman Reef when they were approached by a male dressed in dark clothing and armed with a firearm.

Gunshots were heard and the male resident was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

The victim later died.

Bahama Journal sources have identified the victim as Christopher Outten, the proprietor of two Cash For Gold locations in Grand Bahama – one in Eight Mile Rock and the other in Freeport.

He is the brother of former Senator Caleb Outten and popular gospel singer Simeon Outten.

Sources said Outten is in his early 50s.

Police are aggressively investigating this matter and are appealing to the members of the public with any information that can assist in bringing this matter to a closure to call 911, 919, 350-3107, 350-3108 or call your nearest police station..

This takes the country’s overall homicide count to six for the year.
