Two Men, Teen Charged With Murder

A trio was on Monday charged in court separately for two murders.

In the first case, East Street resident Charles Babbs, 39, was charged with murdering 40-year-old Kelsey Johnson last Friday.

Johnson, who was also a resident of East Street, died after being struck to the head with an object during an alleged fight with Babbs.

Babbs was not required to enter a plea to the charges and was later remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) until November 7 when the matter is expected to continue via a Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI).

He was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez.

In the second incident, Livingston Woodside and a 16-year-old boy were also charged on Monday for the June 3 murder of 47-year-old Owen Rose.

Rose, an Elizabeth Estates resident, was gunned down while in the Washington Street area.

Meantime, 34-year-old Deangelo Knowles was also charged alongside the pair with conspiracy to commit murder.

None of the accused was required to enter a plea to the charge and they were all remanded to prison until the matter resumes via a VBI on November 20.
