Teenagers Charged With Plantol Street Shooting

Two teens were sent to prison yesterday in connection with the drive-by shooting on Plantol Street last month which left two men dead and two others in critical condition.

Deano Nixon and Keith Allen, both 18 years old, were charged in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday on two counts of murder for the deaths of Henry Johnson and Renardo Johnson.

The duo was also charged with the attempted murder of Pedro Collie and David Strachan.

On February 16, the two accused allegedly drove through the area off East Street and discharged shots which killed the two men and left the others in critical condition.

During the arraignment, both defendants made complaints of police brutality and were sent to hospital for medical treatment following the arraignment.

The teenagers will be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until May 29 when the matter will resume by way of a voluntary bill of indictment.

In other news:
Kenneth Cummings, 25, of Samson Street appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt yesterday in connection with a shooting that occurred in Nassau Village.

Cummings was not required to enter a plea for murder and attempted murder charges.

On Friday, March 6, police received reports of shots fired at Alexandria Boulevard in Nassau Village where two men were approached and pursued by their attacker.

As a result, 28-year-old D’Antoine Burrows was shot multiple times and died at a nearby barbershop while the other man, D’Quille Edgecombe, was taken to hospital.

Cummings was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until May 11 where his matter will proceed by way of a voluntary bill of indictment.
