RBPF working to keep guns off the streets

Owners of illegal Guns roam the streets of the Bahamas and the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) has been arduously working on getting these guns off the street.

Two males were taken into custody yesterday following the seizure of an illegal handgun over the weekend.

Acting on intelligence, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers went Gambier Village where they accosted two males who aroused their suspicion.

The two males were searched,  as well as a Honda vehicle and found was a Taurus pistol with three rounds of ammunition.  The two males were subsequently taken into custody.

Also, two adult females along with an adult male were taken into custody following the seizure of an illegal handgun in Andros yesterday.

Around 10:30am, officers assigned to the North Andros District, acting on intelligence, intercepted a Lancer Mitsubishi vehicle occupied by two females and a male in Red Bays, Andros.

The trio along with their vehicle were  searched and a MAC 10 full automatic sub-machine gun was found inside the vehicle.  The three suspects were subsequently taken into custody.
