Police search for suspects in over 10 armed robberies

The Royal Bahamas Force has their hands full as they search for the suspects of 10 armed robberies this past weekend.

On Friday three incidents happened while another eight occurred on Sunday.

In the first incident police reported that shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Friday a woman was walking on Pigeon Plumb Street when she was robbed of a cellphone.

Her assailant, a man armed with a handgun, approached her and robbed her of her mobile device and handbag before fleeing on foot.

Later that day around 2:00 p.m., a man was robbed along with three others.

The man was driving his public service bus on Lazaretto Road, when he was approached by two men who were passengers on the bus.

The men armed with handguns, robbed him and the three passengers of cash and a cell phone before fleeing on foot.

In the next incident two women reported being robbed as they were about to enter their residence.

According to their reports to the police, shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Friday they were about to enter their home located at Passion Drive when a male who was armed, approached them.

The pair reported that the man who was armed with a handgun robbed them of their handbags and cell phones before fleeing on foot.

Shortly after midnight on Saturday another man was robbed of cash.

Police reported that a man was about to enter his home located on Bethel Avenue, when a man armed with a handgun robbed him of his cash and other valuables.

The assailant then fled on foot.

Two hours later a man reported being robbed of cash and a chain.

According to police, he was walking in the area of Hay and East Streets, when he was approached by an armed man.

The assailant wielding a handgun, robbed him of cash and a gold chain before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.

Later that day shortly after 9:00 a.m., a woman was robbed while making a deposit at a bank.

The woman who was attempting to make a deposit at a bank on Shirley Street, was approached by a man armed with a handgun.

He then robbed her and robbed her of a deposit bag containing cash.

The man then fled the scene in a Honda CRV vehicle license number 216616.

Later that afternoon around 4:00 p.m. taxi driver was robbed of cash before his assailants fled in a grey Nissan Vehicle.

The taxi driver reported being at a location off Yamacraw Hill Road, when two men armed with handguns approached and robbed him of cash.

They then fled in the grey vehicle.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., two men armed with handguns robbed a convenience store located on Malcolm Road.

The men were able to escape with a small amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

Next, at 10:00 p.m., a woman reported being approached by two armed males and robbed of her vehicle.

The woman according to police reports was in front of her home located on hospital Lane, when three males armed with handguns approached and robbed her of her blue 2007 Suzuki Liana car license number 188743 before speeding off.

In the final incident, police reported that shortly after 10:00 p.m., a woman was also robbed of her vehicle before her assailants sped off in her car.

The woman was according to reports was sitting in her 1996 Toyota Corolla car license number 131210 in front of a home located on Bellot Road.

Three men in a white Nissan car armed with handguns reportedly approached and robbed her of her vehicle before speeding off.

Investigations are ongoing.
