Davis “Embarrassed” By Son’s Arrest

Opposition Leader Phillip “Brave” Davis said he felt a sense of embarrassment as his son was arrested and appeared before the courts on a possession of an illegal firearm charge.

Philmore Davis, son of  Mr. Davis along with Don Davis, Matthew Davis and Laven Gibson were arraigned in the magistrate’s court Friday on an unlawful possession of a firearm charge.

The men are accused of unlawfully possessing a .380 pistol, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Isaacs granted the men bail late Friday afternoon.

Responding to his son’s arrest,  the PLP leader in a statement said it is a very unfortunate event and is obviously causing his family considerable embarrassment and distress.

He added that he has confidence in the professionalism of the officers of the Royal Bahamas police force and the judicial system, And as with any other citizen of the Bahamas, he would not expect his son to receive any special favor nor to be treated unfairly due to his relationship with him.

The says  at the end of the day, the chips will fall where they may and no one is above the law, but he will continue to support his son and family.
