Police in Bimini are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a American male this past weekend during a fishing trip.

On Friday officers received reports of a 32-year old American male drowning while driving..

Shortly after 4:00 p.m. police received information and went to an area some ten miles off Cat Cay, where the body the male who was a part of the crew on board a 25 ft. fishing vessel reportedly drowned while diving.

The body was taken into Bimini, seen by doctor and pronounced dead.

Police are actively investigating this matter.
