Four people have been taken into custody for questioning in reference to two recent homicides that occurred on Grand Bahama, police confirmed yesterday.
In the latest incident which occurred shortly before 2:00a.m Monday, a man was shot while at the Boom-Boom Room nightclub in an area on Adventurer’s Way commonly referred to as the “Ghetto.”
According to police, 22-year-old Leonardo Pierre of #43 Weddell Avenue was in the club when a short, dark skinned man wearing a black jacket, approached him and opened fire.
When officers arrived on the scene, they met Pierre, who is also known as ‘Yellow’, with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pierre’s death came less than 24-hours after 15-year-old Alexis Smith of Holmes Rock, was shot to the head outside Platinum Lounge in Kings Subdivision Sunday by a man known to police.
The man reportedly fled the scene shortly after.
Witnesses said the girl was seen inside the nightclub prior to the incident.
When police arrived they met the teen’s lifeless body, clad in a mustard coloured tights and a black shirt, lying on the ground outside the establishment with multiple gunshot wounds to the head.

This latest incident marks Grand Bahama’s fourth homicide for the year and the country’s 26th.
