Grand Bahama police this weekend confiscated just under $150,000 worth of suspected marijuana along with a firearm and ammunition.
A 42-year-old man of Freeport, Grand Bahama was arrested as a result, authorities said.
According to Police Press Liaison Officer, Terecita Pinder, just after 11:00 p.m. Saturday, a team of DEU officers executed a search warrant at an apartment in the Lucaya area, where they found two black duffle bags and suitcases containing multiple packages of suspected marijuana wrapped in black, brown and clear plastic.
Officers also found half a pound of suspected marijuana hidden in a freezer.
A further search revealed a 9mm handgun and 29 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The suspect was arrested and taken into police custody while the drugs, firearm and ammunition were all seized.
The suspected marijuana weighs approximately 149.5 pounds and has an estimated street value of $149,500.
Police investigations continue.
