One of the men killed over the weekend was reportedly on bail for stealing and receiving.
Twenty-six-year-old Pillario Simmons died in hospital Saturday morning after being shot multiple times.
The Journal has learnt that Simmons was wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet when he arrived at the hospital.
Simmons, a resident of Podoleo Street, was shot Friday night at 8:00 on Meadow Lane off East Street.
Police said four men approached him and opened fire.
Meanwhile, police have identified the victim whose body was found at the rear of the National Insurance Board (NIB) building on Baillou Hill Road early Saturday morning.
He is 19-year-old Macksony Sineus.
A passerby discovered his partially submerged body in the pond around 7:20 a.m.
When police recovered Sineus’ body, they discovered that he was partially clothed. The East Street South resident was wearing boxers and a top and had injuries to the upper body.
Police also identified 31-year-old Jeremiah Williams as the man who died after being stabbed at the Independence Shopping Centre early Saturday morning.
Williams was a resident of Malcolm Road West.
Two other men were stabbed during this incident. One remains in stable condition while the other was treated and discharged.
These slayings pushed the homicide count to 57 for the year, with 15 alone occurring this month.
