Five men were arrested Tuesday night after police officials were forced to shut down a block party in the Englerston constituency.
Responding to numerous reports of residents being disturbed by loud music and gunshots, officers headed to the Montel Heights area where a street party was taking place.
However, the festivities were quickly shut down and in the end five men – ages 51, 31, 30, 25 and 16 – were taken into custody for breach of the Music and Dance Act.
The suspects were also questioned in connection with firearm possession.
The men are expected to appear in court at a later date to be formally charged.
