Bahamians in unison last night, defended newest golden girl Shanuae Miller over her dive to victory at the finish line.
Citizens from countries all over the world last night took to Twitter and Facebook to defend World Champion Allyson Felix as they believed Shaunae did not deserve to win gold, due to her diving across the finish line.
Bahamians, however replied to all tweets and Facebook posts that bashed Miller, mostly with a Bahamian slang derogatory term for female genitals.
“If you think #BahamianTwitter is bad, don’t ever cross paths with #BahamianFacebook,” one post said.
“ShaunaeMiller ran out of a whole lane 7 and dominate the race from start to finish. No discussion need.”

Shaunae ran a personal best of 49.44 in the 400 m race on Monday night around 9:45 p.m.
Along with the scores of proud Bahamians cheering on the newest golden girl, many congratulatory remarks poured in from members of government, the community and the leading tertiary institute in the Bahamas.
Shaunae Miller was born in Nassau, Bahamas in 1994 and graduated from St. Augustine’s College.
She attended the University of Georgia before becoming a pro athlete.
This is The Bahamas’ 13th Olympic medal and sixth gold medal. It is also the second individual gold medal won by a Bahamian woman in the 400-meter race.
Tonique Williams won gold in the 400-meter final in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.
This is also the second consecutive gold medal win for the country at the Olympics.
During post interviews Miller thanked God for her victory noting that, “I knew I had to get it. I knew I had to get the gold.”
