The traffic fatality victim who died early Friday morning has been identified as 36-year-old Quincy Deon Darling.

According to police a 58-year-old male driver of a 2002 Chevy S-10 pickup truck was traveling west on Cowpen Road shortly after midnight when he collided with a black and orange Keeway EN200 TX motorcycle -driven by Darling.

Darling, who was headed east on Cowpen Road, died on the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police are reiterating calls for people to drive carefully on the streets of New Providence and the Family Islands.

This latest fatality came just a week after 75-year-old Brad Lundy of Stapledon Gardens was killed in a traffic accident.

Officer-In-Charge of the Traffic Division Assistant Superintendent Craig Stubbs said at the time that Lundy died on the scene.

“Around 6:30 a.m. on [April 3] the Police Control Room received information of an accident on the Tonique Williams-Darling highway corridor involving a pedestrian,” he said.

“Officers responded and met the lifeless body of an adult man lying in the east bound lane of the thoroughfare. EMS personnel arrived and pronounced him dead. Earlier reports said the man was walking and crossed from the northern side to southern side of the street when the Toyota Sprinter which was travelling eastbound, collided with him.”

He said the driver remained on the scene following the incident.

Investigations into that accident are still ongoing.
