Two women, along with a man were arrested in Bimini yesterday after they were found in possession of dangerous drugs.
According to police around 5:00 a.m. a team of officers from the Bimini Police Division went to a residence in Bailey Town, armed with a search warrant and discovered 19 pounds of suspected marijuana.
The drugs have an estimated street value of $19,000.
Police then took into custody the two women, ages 51 and 26, both of Bailey town.
A 43-year-old man of Thirsty Turtle, Bimini was also arrested in connection with the matter.
Police investigations are ongoing.
This latest drug seizure comes after $20,000 worth of marijuana was found on Lucayan Harbour in Grand Bahama.
Minister of State for National Security Keith Bell has recently stated that drug abuse is on the rise throughout the Caribbean.
