The process towards buying a new home or car can be overwhelming, for this reason Scotiabank held a Mortgage and Auto Show coupled with educational seminars for members of the public.
According to Scotia Bank’s Manager of Sales and Services Coach Cleveland Palacious, the bank saw the need to lend a helping hand.
“We are holding seminars in which we are able to enlighten our customers as to the nuts and bolts of buying a home versus building a home also home ownership 101 from the aspects of all the legal nuts and bolts,” he said.
“We just wanted to be able to enlighten our customers as to the ups and downs of constructing, what is needed and the details of properly planning to buy or own a home.”
The daylong event was held under the theme “A Home Is More Than A Mortgage”, at the Melia Resort on Saturday.
The three part seminar sessions were well attended.
During a panel discussion, participants were able to engage in dialogue with a team of legal experts, architects, contractors including a representative from the Ministry of Works.
Scotiabank’s Senior Marketing Manager Leah Davis said they also wanted to give customers an opportunity to meet a cross section of vendors all under one roof.
“We have building experts, we have auto dealerships, we have insurance companies and of course we have our Scotiabank’s personal banking officers to create a one stop shopping experience for those persons who are in the market for a new home or a new car.
“So you come down and you talk to the car dealerships for example, they give you a quote, the you go over to the insurance companies, they give you a quote and then you come and sit down with a Scotiabank representative who can create a financial solution that’s tailored for you and your needs.”
The event was the first of its kind for the bank, according to Mr. Palacious, they look forward to hosting next year’s event.
