Authorities have identified the country’s 79th murder victim as 29-year-old Forluke Dupree.
Dupree – a resident of Finlayson Street – has been dead since last Wednesday, but was just positively identified yesterday morning.
Superintendent Stephen Dean told the Bahama Journal that investigators had gotten a number of different names from some people he declined to identify, but still officers were unable to positively identify the man.
The victim was riding a motorbike in the area of Sunlight Cottage off East Street after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when a gunman approached him and shot him multiple times about the body.
Dupree died on the scene.
There is still no motive for the killing, police said.
A 26-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was shot early Sunday morning.
Police say it was just before 1:00 a.m. when a cutlass wielding suspect approached a Ramsey Street resident.
However, police said, before the cutlass wielding man could get to the Ramsey Street victim, he was shot in the upper body.
At last report, the victim was listed in critical condition in hospital.
Armed Robberies Under Investigation
A string of armed robberies are also under active investigations today.

The police say the culprit fled on foot.
An hour later, a man was standing in front of a business establishment on East Bay Street, when another man armed with a handgun approached him, robbed him of cash and sped off in the victim’s grey 2011 Honda Frito.
