An off-duty police officer remains in stable condition in hospital after being stabbed twice in the head early yesterday.
According to police, just after 1:00 a.m. Sunday, the officer, who is a constable and was off duty, was attacked by two men armed with a knife and screw driver at Elizabeth Avenue.
Police have already taken two men in custody in relation to this matter.
The men are 27 and 24 years of age.
Meanwhile, police also had three other stabbing incidents to deal with over the weekend as well.
Shortly after 4:00 p.m. Saturday, a group of men was involved in an altercation at Joan’s Heights resulting in one of the men being stabbed to the upper back and the other to the arm.
The men were taken to the hospital where they are detained in stable condition.
In the second incident, shortly after midnight on Sunday, two men were at a nightclub in Coral Harbour, when they got into an altercation with another man who stabbed them to the upper back.
The victims were taken to hospital where they are detained in stable condition.
In the third incident, around 12:20 a.m. Sunday, the victim was at Bernard Road, when she was attacked by a man she knew.
He was armed with a knife.
She sustained stab wounds to the thigh and back and was taken to hospital where she is detained in stable condition.
