A man, believed to be in his 30s, was found by police in a car on Carmichael Road with gunshot wounds about the body last Friday morning.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Clayton Fernander, officials were alerted of the sounds of gunshots on Whitaker Avenue sometime after 12 a.m.
“Our officers were alerted by residents and when they arrived on scene, found the male’s body in a Chevy vehicle,” he said.
The male was pronounced dead on the scene.
When asked if the victim was known to police, ACP Fernander said yes.
“We know who he is, but don’t want to reveal his identification out of respect to next of kin,” he said. “As of right now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.”
According to The Bahama Journal’s record’s, the murder count now stands at 53.
Investigations are ongoing.
