Homicide Count Climbs To 85

A stabbing and shooting have left two men dead and police on the hunt for their killers.

According authorities, a man was at a bar on Gibbs Corner when he got involved in an altercation with another man known to him and was subsequently stabbed.

The suspect fled on foot.

The victim was taken to hospital via a private vehicle. He died late Saturday.

Police are also investigating the shooting death of a man in the Sunshine Park area on Friday night.

Sources tell the Bahama Journal the victim is Kevin Saunders.

According to reports, around 9:00a.m., Saunders was standing in front of a home on Palmetto Avenue, Sunshine Park when three men in a gold-coloured Honda vehicle approached him.

Two of the men reportedly exited the vehicle and fired shots at Saunders, who ran into a nearby house.

The gunmen pursued him, shooting him several times.

The suspects then fled the scene in the waiting vehicle, said police.

Saunders died at the scene.

At last report, police were searching for Philari Williams of Sunset Park in connection with the matter.
