A young woman was found in a Jubilee Gardens home early yesterday morning and according to police her body was riddled with bullets, she became the fourth murder victim in less than seven days.
Officer in charge of the Central Detective Unit (CDU), Chief Superintendent Ashton Greenslade said he and his team are still actively investigating the matter.
He gave the following account.
“Some time around 6:05 am this morning police received reports of gunshots in the area of Jubilee Gardens. Responding officers on their arrival found the lifeless body of a female in the driveway with gunshot injuries about the body,” he said.
“At this time our detectives are at the initial stages of the investigation to try and find out what transpired.”
He said there was still also no motive for the crime.
“At this time we don’t have a motive and we are not following any leads as we speak,” Superintendent Greenslade said.
“What I want to ask is for the members of the public who might have heard or seen anything to please come forward with any information.”
Initial reports where that neighbors found the female’s body in their yard and had told firs responding officers the young girl was their child, however upon further investigation this was not the case.
