Four Bahamian men who range in age from 23 to 34 were arrested in north Bimini Monday after officers busted them with an assortment of firearms, ammunition and drugs.
Three of the men are from Bimini and the fourth is a resident of Freeport, Grand Bahama.
A team of police officers from Bimini searched the home and allegedly found a handgun, a magazine and a quantity of ammunition along with a small quantity of suspected marijuana.
Meantime, in Grand Bahama on Monday evening, police arrested a 55-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman for possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition.
Police said shortly after 1:00 p.m., a team of Central Detective Unit (CDU) officers searched the Privateer Lane residents and allegedly found a black and chrome .9mm pistol and a quantity of ammunition in their car.
Just before 6:00 p.m. Monday, CDU officers also searched a Bayshore Road home in the Midshipman Road area and allegedly found a 9mm pistol and a large quantity of ammunition along with a small quantity of suspected marijuana.
Four people – two men and two women – were arrested.
All the suspects are expected to be transported to New Providence and arraigned in the magistrates’ court sometime this week.
