A search is ongoing for a missing person following a boating accident at approximately 8:30 pm on Saturday night involving a Defence Force harbor patrol vessel and a 13’foot skiff .
The Journal has come to understand that the missing man is 25-year old Christopher Turnquest.
Two persons were onboard the 13-ft fiber glass skiff in Nassau Harbor, north of Bay Street Marina. Immediately after the accident one of the occupants of the vessel was recovered from the water by the Defence Force marinesand appeared to be unharmed.
An immediate search was commenced by the royal bahamas defence force vessels for the second occupant.
The Royal Bahamas Defence force vessels along with divers and shoreline search teams as well as Royal Bahamas Police Force Marine Unit are currently searching for the second occupant of the vessel despite the rainy and windy weather conditions.
None of the crewmembers of the Defence Force vessel suffered any injuries. The incident is also under investigation by the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
