A high-speed chase in New Providence early yesterday morning ended with police shooting two known suspects.
It all started when police got a tip that three men in a white Honda Accord were in the Kemp Road area with firearms.
When officers on patrol got in the Sutton Street, Kemp Road area they spotted trio in the car acting suspiciously.
Officers tried to stop the driver, but he immediately sped off east along Shirley Street.
Police followed the car into the Step Street, Fox Hill area where the men hopped out of the car while firing at police.
Officers returned fire, hitting two of the men.
A third man managed to evade police.
Police then took the men to hospital under heavy guard.
Police are also investigating another shooting, which sent two men to hospital
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Two men were at Frogman Lane off Deveaux Street when a man approached them and opened fire, hitting them several times.
The victims were taken to hospital where they are detained in stable condition.
