Police on Wednesday seized $750,000 worth of cocaine and marijuana during a major drug bust in the Pinewood Gardens area.
Three men ages 48, 39 and 27 are in police custody after being caught with the drugs.
Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers arrested the men around 11:40 a.m. after searching the red Kia Sedona van that they were in.
Preliminary reports indicate that DEU officers, acting on intelligence, went to Silk Cotton Street, Pinewood Gardens where they confiscated 42 kilograms of suspected cocaine and 14 pounds of suspected marijuana.
The suspected cocaine is estimated to cost $736,000 and the suspected marijuana have an estimated street value of $14,000.
Marijuana, plants found in Eleuthera
A 29-year-old man of Commonage Land, Tarpum Bay and a 22-year-old woman of Bristors Road, Rock Sound are in police custody after allegedly being busted with a quantity of suspected marijuana and marijuana plants.
Eleuthera police arrested the pair around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Acting on information officers conducted a search of a property occupied by the 29-year-old man and discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana plants.
Investigations into these matters are ongoing.
