Three men allegedly behind two major drug busts in the capital were arraigned before Acting Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes yesterday.
The arraignment follows an incident that occurred last Thursday, after DEU officers found three boxes containing 57 pounds of marijuana on a mail boat moored at the Potter’s Cay Dock.
The suspect charged in this case was 39-year-old Jermaine Smith of Barraterre, Exuma.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge of drug possession with the intent to supply.
Smith, who was represented by Jomo Campbell, will return to court on April 7.
Also arraigned were 38-year-old Crooked Island Street Resident, Alex Turnquest and 28-year- old Taylor Street Resident, Cordero White, on the charge of possessing four – and-one-half ounces of cocaine with the intent to supply.
The discovery was made at the Lynden Pindling International Airport last Friday.
The suspects were remanded to the Department of Corrections until they return to court on April 12.
