Family members of murder victims have joined forces with the Central Detective Unit (CDU) to appeal for help in apprehending murder suspects who are still at large.
Alvin Sargent says he knows that his son’s killer is still out there.
Mr. Sargent is the father of Abyami Sargent who was murdered last October opposite Christie Park.
“The police are our friends and we should do all within our power to assist them to bring order to this society,” he said.
“They have been doing a tremendous job; they work tirelessly to bring these matters to closure, but of course they can only do so without the assistance of the general public. “
Giovanno Bain, brother of Gregory Bain Jr. says his brother was a loving father. He said it is sad that he was murdered before he could get to know his last child.
Bain was killed in Abaco.
“My brother was killed on August 26th of this year and up to this point the suspect is still out,” he said.
“In matters like this we just want some justice to be served.”
Head of CDU Superintendent Paul Rolle said he wants to assure all families of murder victims that they have not been forgotten.
“I am certain that these suspects have to eat; they have to sleep and persons know where they are,” he said.
“If we find persons are harbouring suspects now that I have made this appeal , you will be dealt with because we’re not going to ease up until we find them, so if we come to the house and we find them in the house then you could expect to be taken into custody and charged for harbouring a wanted fugitive.“
Some 15 murder suspects are still on the run.
