Two years after the November 2011 shooting death of Randino Pratt a 25-year-old man was on Monday arraigned for the murder.
Twenty-five-year-old Brenton Thompson appeared in Court Number Nine before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson Pratt to face that murder charge.
But his lawyer Stanley Rolle expressed disappointment with how this case has proceeded.
Mr. Rolle told the court that his client was in custody since Sunday and was not allowed communication with his attorneys.
The attorney added that Thompson was “tricked” by Central Detective Unit officers into signing the release form for the identification parade adding that in 2011 his client gave a statement to police in relation to the matter but was released from custody.
Now, two years later, he said Thompson is being charged as the prime suspect in the case.
Thompson was not required to enter a plea to the murder count, denied bail and was remanded to prison until a Voluntary Bill of Indictment scheduled for February 3, 2014.
