A man recently convicted of the botched armed robbery of a popular fast food franchise has been sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison.
Twenty-five-year-old Jeremy Kemp was convicted back in July for the failed attempted armed robbery of Kentucky Fried Chicken’s (KFC) Oakes Field location.
But, on Monday a Supreme Court judge sentenced Kemp to 19 years in prison for the crime.
It was back on December 13, 2010 that Kemp tried to rob the fast food location by jumping over the counter.
But after he could not get the two cash registers open, he fled the scene.
After a brief foot chase, officers arrested Kemp and recovered a handgun he tossed in nearby bushes.
While Kemp was sentenced to 19 years in jail, 20 months will be knocked off of that sentence for the time he spent on remand.
