Following the recent Cabinet shuffle, the new Minister of Labour and Public Service Pia Glover

• Rolle expressed her gratitude for the prime minister’s confidence in her abilities.
  In a statement, she pledged to continue to commit herself to prioritizing the needs of public
  servants and Bahamian workers everywhere.
  The statement went on to say that during her time as the state minister, she helped to deliver
  salary increases throughout the public service, increased public service pensions, brought back
  annual increments, and conducted a public service-wide skills and manpower audit to inform the
  government’s long-term reform agenda.
  Labour relations were also improved through the negotiation and signing of 22 labour
  agreements in 23 months.
  The minister highlighted her continued work such as the first public service-wide promotional
  exercise in over nine years for deserving public servants and the rolling out of a major
  digitalization effort for document management and HR systems.
  The new Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources Jomo Campbell also expressed his
  gratitude for the Cabinet shuffle and the government’s confidence in him.
  In a statement he said, “As I embark on this new chapter, I do so by the grace of God and with
  the same humility with which I entered public life. It is my intention to build upon and expand
  the good work began by the Hon. Clay Sweeting while he served as minister of Agriculture,
  Marine Resources and Family Island Affairs.”
  He noted that we have witnessed how external occurrences in the world can negatively impact
  the cost and availability of food in the country.
  “Therefore, improving the food security of The Bahamas is essential to the growth and
  development of not only our people, but also our economy,” Campbell said.
  He reiterated his commitment to expending the work of The Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial
  Corporation (BAIC) and The Bahamas Agriculture and Marine Science Institute (BAMSI).
