Over the weekend police officials were investigating yet another murder in the capital.
Police said they are requesting the public’s assistance in solving the shooting incident that has left one man dead and another detained in hospital Friday night.
According to reports, shortly after 9:00 p.m. the deceased along with another man were walking on Zirconia Court, College Gardens, when a man armed with a handgun approached them and shot the deceased multiple times to the body.
The other man ran and the gunman shot him once to the body.
The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second shooting victim is detained in hospital in serious condition.
13-year-old Stabbed By Group of Boys
Police were also left trying to figure out why a 13-year-old boy was attacked and stabbed by a group of young men on Friday.
According to police reports, the incident happened after 3:00 p.m. that day when the teen victim was walking south on Faith Avenue
It is reported that he was attacked by a group of boys who stabbed him to the back with a sharp object and fled on foot.
The boy was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.
In an unrelated incident, a man is also in hospital in stable condition nursing stab wounds.
According to reports, shortly after 9:00 p.m. a man was walking south on Yamacraw Beach Drive Saturday when four males approached him and demanded a cell phone from him.
The victim told the males that he did not have a phone.
One of the males then stabbed him in his back and they fled on foot.
The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.
Another man was stabbed over the weekend and is too in hospital nursing wounds.
Police said it was after 10:30 a.m. Friday when a man was sitting on a wall at Cambridge Street and Hospital Lane, when he got into an altercation with three men who stabbed him to the body with an object before fleeing on foot.
Police Recover Shotgun
According to reports, shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Friday Police receive a report of gunshots being fired in the St. Vincent Road area.
Officers from the Southwestern Division on arrival in the area saw two men fleeing on foot who dropped an object to the ground.
Police chased them, but were unable to catch the two suspects.
However, the police did recover a shotgun.
Investigations are ongoing into all matters.
