Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) has won gold and silver medals in the highly competitive regional, telephone directory awards competition held by The Association of Directory Publishers (ADP), an international trade association serving the Yellow Pages industry since 1898.
BTC won two first place golds in the ‘Excellence in Cover Design & Art – Product Branding,’ and ‘Excellence in Cover Design & Art – Print’ and a second place silver for ‘Excellence in Print Directories.’
Entries are judged by a jury of peers and knowledgeable industry experts at the cnnual convention and trade show.
Najah Finlayson the BTC directory publications manager said her team was thrilled that their hard work had paid off.
“We love what we do with a passion, and tirelessly put in hundreds of hours to ensure we give the public really great phone books each year. I am so very proud of the team here at BTC Directory Department. Winning gold and silver, the two top awards, speaks volumes about the quality and creativity of our work. Selecting to illustrate pictorially, our new local and international tourism festival, the Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival, gave us stunning, attention-grabbing front covers which I’m sure worked in our favour, whilst serving to promote the event,” Finlayson said.
The 2015 BTC directories were published in January and are a treasure trove of useful, interesting information.
The books feature all pertinent emergency and government information along with a myriad of material for BTC customers; information includes summaries of BTC products and services, how to sign up for new services, billing information and an extensive history on BTC and telecommunications in the country – a great resource for school students.
The directories also contain a dedicated section highlighting the charitable and civic projects BTC has spearheaded or supported over the past year.
In this section, features on BTC annual school aid event, the annual blood drives, information on COB scholarships and their recipients, a highlight on BTC’s Starmakers, and BTC’s sponsored athletes: Ramon Miller, Demetrius Pinder, Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace, and Shaunae Miller. A mini-size directory also contains residential and business listings in a more portable, compact size.
