Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday and has left a man dead.

According to reports, police received a report shortly before 3 a.m. that a man was shot on Meadows Street. The man was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the next morning.

It was also confirmed by police that the victim was on bail for a serious offence and being electronically monitored at the time of his death.

In other crime news:
Two men were hospitalized on Saturday, March 14 following two separate shooting incidents.

Police are requesting the public’s help in resolving both matters.

In the first incident, shortly after 10 p.m. a man was walking along Soldier Road when two men in a black Sunny vehicle fired several shots at him and sped off. The victim suffered minor injuries to the head and was transported to hospital shortly after.

In the second incident, a woman who had just arrived to her home in Fire Trail shortly after 11 p.m. was shot in her vehicle. She was hit in her left jaw. The suspect fled on foot while the woman was transported to hospital shortly after where she is listed in serious condition.

Police also reported a stabbing incident, which took place in Sunshine Park on Sunday, March 15.
According to police, shortly after 1 a.m., a male, 22, was stabbed by an unknown male while at a party at his residence in Sunshine Park. The victim was taken to hospital where he is listed in serious condition. Investigations continue into this matter.

On Saturday March 14, police reported the arrest of three men and two women believed to be behind a stolen vehicle ring. It was reported that shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, police acting on intelligence, went to Arawak Cay and arrested the suspects and also recovered eight other stolen vehicles from bushes located on Gladstone and Soldier Road.

During the weekend police anti-crime operation, police also reported the arrest of two women, one from Jamaica and the other a Bahamian, suspected to be at a nightclub located on Bay Street and Victoria Avenue for solicitation for prostitution. The club’s owner was also arrested for breach of the Business License Act.
