Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a two shooting incidents that left two men detained in hospital Wednesday night.
In the first incident, shortly after 7:00 p.m., a man was involved in an altercation with another man known to him who shot him to the right leg with a handgun and fled on foot.
The victim was transported to hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
In the second incident, shortly before 9:00 p.m., a man was at Ross Corner, when he was shot several times about the body by a group of men involved in an altercation.
The victim was transported to hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.
Investigations are ongoing into both incidents.
Attempted Murder, Rape Arrests
Two men were on Tuesday arrested by Flying Squad officers for rape and attempted murder. in the first incident, shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday officers acting on intelligence arrested a 30-year0old man of Peardale at Nassau Street for attempted murder.
In the second incident, around noon Tuesday those officers arrested a 25-year-old man of Odle Corner for rape.
Woman Sexually Assaulted
In a separate sexual assault case, police are seeking the public’s help in solving a sexual assault of a woman that occurred yesterday.
According to reports, shortly before 1:00 a.m., a woman was at her residence located on Hay Street, when a man known to her visited her residence and sexually assaulted her before fleeing on foot.
Jamaican Arrested on Gun Charge
A 37-year-old undocumented Jamaican man of Rocky Pine Road was taken into custody after he was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Thursday.
Police say it was shortly after 1:00 a.m. when mobile division officers searched his Honda vehicle on Marlborough Street.
During the search the officers uncovered an unlicensed shotgun along with a quantity of ammunition.
Police also discovered that the suspect possessed no legal documents to be in The Bahamas.
