Police officers arrested a 25-year-old man outfitted with an electronic monitoring device over the weekend as he is believed to be behind a shooting that landed a 23-year-old in hospital.

According to reports, on Saturday, shortly after 5:00 p.m. the victim was repairing a vehicle at Montgomery Avenue off Carmichael Road, when he got into an argument with the suspect who was one of his customers.

Reports are that the suspect left the scene and returned shortly afterwards with a shotgun and fired the victim.
He reportedly sped the scene in a black Honda vehicle.

The victim received two gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital where he is detained in stable condition.
Shortly after the incident, officers found and arrested the suspect at Goodman’s Bay.

Officers made a firearm arrest shortly after midnight on Sunday.

Mobile Division officers acting on intelligence went to Market and Poinciana Drive, where they conducted a search of a 27-year-old man of Pastel Gardens and found an imitation handgun in his possession.

The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
In another firearm arrest, three men ages 30, 22, and 21 were taken into custody on the weekend after they were nabbed for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, officers from the Flying Squad acting on intelligence conducted a search of a Mercedes Benz vehicle at Mini Street occupied by the three suspects and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition.

The suspects are expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.
