The parent and teacher involved in a recent attack at the Anatol Rodgers High School are expected to settle the matter outside of court.
However, both are slated to be arraigned on assault charges on Friday following the altercation that occurred after school hours this past Tuesday.
The Bahama Journal understands that the pair met at the police headquarters after 2:00p.m. on Friday.
On Tuesday, the parent was taken into custody. She filed a counter complaint of assault against the teacher and was released.
Sources close to the teacher told the Journal that she maintains her innocence.
The parent has a special needs child at the school.
Just last month, the principal of Jack Hayward High School in Grand Bahama was hospitalised after she was assaulted by a parent.
Soon after, 34-year-old Latoya Denise Williams was arraigned before Magistrate Debbye Ferguson.
Williams pleaded guilty to four charges – causing harm, disorderly behaviour, resisting arrest and causing damage.
She was sentenced to a year in prison.
Education Minister Jerome Fitzgerald has said the government will not tolerate violence against teachers or administrators.
