A Pinewood Gardens man was charged in court yesterday with holding up the CIBC FirstCaribbean Bank at the Mall at Marathon last week.
Police believe 22-year-old Carlton Russell of Maple Street is one of two men who robbed the bank on May 31.
It is alleged that Russell, while armed with mace, robbed two bank tellers of $6,320.
Russell was not required to enter a plea to the charge.
He has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prisons (HMP).
The accused will return to court for a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI) on October 4.
Prior to his case’s adjournment, Russell informed Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez that he has psychological issues and is sporadically suicidal.
He requested the court’s assistance in providing him with medical attention while on remand.
The court granted his request.
