Three men were killed in two days, pushing the homicide count to 57 for the year.
Police were called to the rear of the National Insurance Board (NIB) building on Baillou Hill Road early Saturday morning, where they found the man’s body.
A passerby discovered the partially submerged body in the pond around 7:20 a.m.
When police recovered the body, they discovered that the victim was partially clothed. He was wearing boxers and a top and had injuries to the upper body.
The victim is believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties.
Meanwhile, two men died in hospital Saturday morning after being shot and stabbed in separate incidents.
The first victim, a 26-year-old male resident of Podoleo Street, died around 10:00 a.m.
That victim was shot Friday night at 8:00 on Meadow Lane off East Street.
Police said four men approached the victim and opened fire.
Meantime, three men were stabbed early Saturday morning in the parking lot of the Independence Shopping Centre.
One of the men died in hospital, one is in critical condition and the third was treated and discharged.
Authorities are also investigating a shooting and stabbing incident that has left two men in hospital.
It was around 11:30 p.m. Saturday that a 45-year-old Coco Plum Lane man, while at home, was approached by a man and shot several times.
He was taken to hospital where he is detained in serious condition.
Just prior to that incident, a 26-year-old male of Robinson Road was stabbed.
That incident happened at 9:00 p.m. on Robinson Road, east of East Street.
The victim was approached by a man whom he knew and stabbed to the neck and leg.
He was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.
