Police in Grand Bahama are currently investigating a traffic accident that has left a 31-year-old female dead and in another incident the death of a male in the Deadman Reef area.

Police say the first incident occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. when the victim who was driving a 1999 Nissan Sunny west along Grand Bahama Highway ran off road and collided into trees.

EMS personnel were called to the scene and transported the victim to hospital where she was pronounced dead by doctor.

In the second incident police say they were called to the Deadman Reef area around noon where the body of a male was discovered in a tractor submerged in water in the canal.

The body was pulled to shore and later pronounced dead.

Police are actively investigating both matters.
