The Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) has donated $2,000 as well as food items to three local charities.
PHA officials invited representatives from the charities to its corporate offices to receive the donations.
PHA staff members raised the funds as part of its new year celebrations.
R.E.A.C.H Bahamas, the Bilney Lane Children’s Home and the AIDS Foundation all received donations.
The PHA has supported a number of local charities over the years.
In the past the PHA’s Mega Men Association assisted the Ranfurly Home for Children and the local chapter of the Special Olympics.
PHA staff members also raised funds and donated food items to the Bahamas Red Cross in the wake of past hurricanes and the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
