Murder Victim Found In Suitcase

Police are probing a case that has left the country’s latest murder victim found in a suitcase in an abandoned building.

 

The body of a lifeless man, who police believe was around 30, was found by police after receiving an anonymous tip, at Sumner Street off Soldier Road around 10:00 a.m. yesterday.

 

According to police reports, the body, which was found in a large suitcase belonged to an unknown victim and had apparent wounds about the body.

 

Police at this time are not disclosing what may have caused the wounds.

 

“On examination of the building we discovered the lifeless body of a male, believed to be in his early 30s with injuries to his body. He was resting in a large suitcase,” Chief Superintendent of Police Clayton Fernander said.

 

According to police, the man has not been dead for more than 24 hours.

 

“At this time we don’t have any information, we only responded, made a check and discovered the body. We are now appealing to members of the public and to persons living in the community, if they heard or saw anything to please come forward so that we can carry on with this investigation,” he added.

 

Police at this time say they have no motive for the crime.

 

This homicide victim brings the country’s murder rate to 46 people.
