The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the Foreign Service Officer in Turin, Italy, is now in receipt of the death certificates and passports of Mr. Alrae Ramsey and Mr. Blair John. The two young Bahamians were found dead in a river in Turin some two weeks ago.
The official autopsies on the cause of the deaths have not been released. Bahamian High Commissioner to London, Ellison Greenslade has been working with the Italian authorizes on the matter.
The Ministry said it is at present working assiduously with the funeral homes in Turin and Nassau to have the bodies repatriated to The Bahamas as quickly as possible, so that they can be turned over to their family members.
The Ministry will provide further updates as soon as additional information becomes available.
