Police are still trying to determine the identity of a man who was found murdered in bushes adjacent to the Yellow Elder Primary School on New Year’s Eve.
According to police, the man’s body was found shortly after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Head of the Central Detective Unit (CDU) Superintendent Paul Rolle said the victim died at least six hours before his body was discovered.
He also said there was no evidence to suggest that a chase or struggle ensued and all indications were that the man had been killed at that scene.
“This male appears to be in his early 20s,” Superintendent Rolle said. “He is wearing a black t-shirt with black jeans with blue and black tennis [shoes]. The sole of these shoes is orange and has some orange markings on it.”
He also said the victim had short dreadlocks.
Police continue to appeal to anyone with any information that can assist with their investigation to contact them at 919, 911 or Crimestoppers at 328-TIPS.
