Police in New Providence have arrested nine men in separate incidents after finding several marijuana plants in the central and eastern portions of the island.
In three separate incidents, officers from the Central Division took the men into custody during an operation held between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and midnight on Wednesday.
In the first incident around 6:55 p.m. officers, acting on information, went to a property through Spence Street, Masons Addition where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana along with two marijuana plants.
Three men, two of whom are 42-years-old and a 29 year old were arrested.
In the second incident, which occurred at 7:45 p.m., officers from the Central Division arrested three men –ages 49, 36 and 25 – after discovering a large amount of marijuana plants on their property in Fox Hill.
In the third incident Central Division officers arrested three males – ages 53, 33 and 29 after searching their Augusta Street home and allegedly finding a quantity of marijuana.
Over the weekend Grand Bahama police found $40 million worth of marijuana.
Police found 30 marijuana trees Friday during an early afternoon patrol in east Grand Bahama on the northern side of the Grand Bahama Highway.
Meanwhile, six men are in police custody after police allegedly busted them with a quantity of suspected marijuana.
According to the police, around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday officers from the Central Division searched a home through Strachan’s Corner off East Street and allegedly found the drugs.
Officers also discovered three marijuana plants ranging in heights from one foot to two feet.
