Police are hoping to escort six men before a court early this week in connection with a major drug bust in western New Providence on Friday.
Intelligence led Drug Enforcement Officers (DEU) headed to an area opposite St. Alban’s Drive, commonly referred to as the Sand Track around 6:00pm, where they reportedly spotted the suspects gathered near a moored 18-foot Boston Whaler vessel.
According to police, on the vessel was 250 pounds of marijuana.
The drugs have an estimated street value of $350.
The men – ages 48, 44, 29, 27, 25 and 23 – were all taken in and are expected to soon appear in court to face drug related charges.
Authorities are still however appealing to anyone with information that could further assist this investigation to call Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or 919.

Another five males were taken in custody over in Grand Bahama.
According to police, DEU officers headed to an area in McClean’s Town around 10:00a.m. Friday and arrested the group after they were found with 3.5 pounds of suspected marijuana with an estimated value of $5,000.
Grand Bahama police meantime arrested two men around noon Friday.
Officers were reportedly patrolling the area of Seahorse Village when they spotted a silver 2001 Honda Civic vehicle, whose occupants were acting suspiciously.
The police stopped and searched the vehicle and discovered a 9mm pistol, 60 live rounds of 7.62 ammunition, one magazine, four live rounds of .9mm and 46 live rounds of .9mm ammunition.
Investigations are ongoing.
A 46-year-old man was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs Friday, according to police.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers from the southern division acting on intelligence executed a search warrant at a home on Fritz Lane where they uncovered a quantity of marijuana packaged for sale.
The suspect is expected to appear in court early this week to face drug related charges.
Police are also investigating a stabbing incident which left three men injured.
The incident occurred shortly before 3:00 a.m Saturday at a nightclub in Coral Harbour.
According to reports, the men got into an altercation with another man resulting in the three men being stabbed to the upper body by a group of men that intervened.
The victims were taken to the hospital where two of the men are detained in stable condition and the other in serious condition.
Police are also seeking the public’s assistance in solving two armed robberies that occurred on Friday.
In the first incident which occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m., a woman had just pulled up to her Coral Harbour residence when two men armed with handguns robbed her of a silver Honda Accord registered to the National Insurance Board and sped off with her handbag still in the car.
The second incident occurred shortly after 11:00 p.m., when four men armed with handguns robbed a business establishment located on Chesapeake Road of an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing on foot.
Investigations continue into all of these incidents.
