A man wanted by police for murder is now detained in hospital under heavy police guard after being shot on Friday.
Twenty-three-year-old Cornelius Roberts was wanted by police in connection with that Whit Monday double murder in Kemp Road back in May.
According to police, around 11:15p.m. Friday, they received a report that two men were through Cowman Lane, off Malcolm Road west suffering from gunshot wounds.
Upon arrival, police met one man with a gunshot wound to the leg and the other with a gunshot wound to the upper body area.
Preliminary reports indicate that Roberts and the other man were walking on Baillou Hill Road near Malcolm Road west shortly after 11:00 p.m., when two men exited a white Premier and fired several shots at them.
Both men are in hospital in serious condition.
If Roberts is charged in the court for the May 20 double murder, he would be the fourth person arraigned in connection with the incident.
Twenty-one-year-old Rashad Clarke as well as 22-year-old Carlon Rolle and 18-year-old Sean Higgs were arraigned in connection with this double murder back in May.
On May 20, 40-year-old Amati Knowles and 17-year-old Odrick Telisma both of Kemp Road were killed.
Knowles was shot while sitting on a porch outside a residence and Telisma was gunned down as he attempted to leave the residence. The pair was gunned in broad daylight.
Police also believe Roberts is connected to the attempted murder of Anthony Roache, Larnado Wilson and Arlington Stubbs.
The men were all shot during that incident.
