A Cable Beach woman ended her life inside her Devonshire Street home yesterday.

Bahama Journal sources have confirmed that the woman is 34-year-old Danielle Farrington.

Family members and church friends flooded the scene as news spread of Farrington’s death.

Sobbing relatives could be seen consoling each other. Farrington’s twin brother also showed up on the scene.

Police confirmed that they were called to the home at 4:00 p.m. Initially, officers reported the incident as a “sudden death.”

Police Superintendent Leeman Deleveaux would only confirm that the incident is “a death that needs to be investigated.”

The Journal understands Farrington, an interior decorator, was discovered in an upstairs room.

Neighbour Ricardo Godet, who has lived in the area for more than 20 years, described Farrington as a “quiet woman.”

He said when he arrived home he noticed three police cars in the front of his home, which sits opposite Farrington’s home.

“I said to myself, it must have been some incident that happened around my house, come to find out it’s my next door neighbour,” he said. “I’ve known them for five years, they’re real quiet people. I’ve seen her now and then, she doesn’t come outside much, she’s a real quiet lady.”

“People around here, they don’t really come out. They’re a top-notch, elite family in this country. I’m sure whatever reason it was, it couldn’t be [because of] material things. I know the husband quite well and he was a real nice fellow.”

He continued, “This is disturbing and I give my sympathies to the family.”

Supt. Deleveaux also made a public appeal to residents.

“Anyone going through anything, if you have problems please seek professional help and resist the temptation to end your life,” he said.
