The three men arrested last Thursday after authorities seized an estimated $2 million worth of marijuana from their vessel were arraigned on four drug related charges in a Magistrate’s Court Tuesday.
Devard Dames, 38, a resident of St. Albans Drive, Randolph Mackey, 39, of Faith Gardens and Norris Neely, 42, a resident of Faith Avenue were charged with possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply and conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs with the intent to supply.
The men were also charged with transportation of dangerous drugs and conspiracy to import dangerous drugs.
They all pleaded not guilty to the four counts.
According to police, a team of officers intercepted the trio’s 30-foot Midnight Express vessel around 2:00 a.m., last Thursday just southwest of New Providence.
On board the vessel, officers found an estimated $2 million worth of marijuana.
The men, who yesterday appeared before Magistrate Andrew Forbes, were not eligible for bail and were subsequently remanded to Her Majesty’s Prisons until November 26 when their matter will resume by a Voluntary Bill of Indictment.
