Convinced that the Free National Movement (FNM) knows all too well that the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) stands a chance at becoming the next governing party, Leader of the DNA, Branville McCartney yesterday accused FNM Leader Dr. Hubert Minnis of attempting to “steal” their candidates, at a press conference to unveil their shadow candidates.
Calling the FNM party and its leader Dr. Minnis desperate, Mr. McCartney said that the FNM party is even attempting to buy DNA candidates.
“They are trying to get some members to withdraw their candidacy from the DNA, they are offering monies, and the reason for that is that they are desperate.
“I am just more convinced that we have the right persons especially since we have the free national movement trying every day, to meet with candidates, meet with some of our now spokes persons to try and get them to come on their side.
“Even to the tune of trying to offer them money to leave the DNA and to come and be part of the FNM.
“This is the same party that says on a regular basis, ‘a vote for the DNA is a vote for the PLP’, if that is indeed the case, why would you want to get the members of the DNA to come to your party.
“And that has been happening over the last few months, as recent though as this week, and I find it amazing that the leader of the FNM and his members can even offer money to our members,” Mr. McCartney said.
In all of this, Mr. McCartney said that the reality is that they know that the DNA is a forced to be reckoned with.
“They could talk all they want they could say everything under the sun in relations to the DNA, but in reality, and on the ground, they know that people are sick and tired of both the FNM and the PLP,” Mr. McCartney said.
Sending a message directly to Dr. Minnis, Mr. McCartney said that the people will determine the elections.
“Dr. Minnis, listen, you have your people, go try win the election. We have ours and the people make that determination, plain and simple as that,” Mr. McCartney said.
